Jim Paul Will Give Statement on DUI Arrest Today

The word from the PNJ is that Jim Paul traveled back from Clearwater, FL on Thursday night.

Friday, Paul will release his first statement to the media since being arrested for DUI on Wednesday night after attending an education conference near Tampa.

The Escambia County School District Superintendent will respond to charges by the Clearwater police that he was speeding with a blood alcohol level of 0.12 when he was pulled over.

I don't think the next few day are going to be good for Paul.

Why is drinking and driving a misdemeanor and not a felony? I'm sorry for the man for being stupid enough to do something like that, but he's got to face the consequences of his own stupidity.

A few years ago, I served on an advisory committee for Head Start. One of the parents wanted to serve as chairman and she was currently charged with DUI in Alabama. We told her that she could not be chairman or serve in an advisory capacity of any sort. She was upset and we had to go before the school board about it. They weren't happy about it but they called in the SB attorney who backed up what we said. She was not allowed to serve.

If she can't serve on an advisory committee for Head Start, how can Mr Paul serve as head of all of the school board? This is a no brainer. You can't have somebody who doesn't have any better judgement than that making decisions concerning our children. If he doesn't have enough sense to make better decisions for himself, he certainly can't make decisions for our kids.

I completely agree with your comment.

It will be a miracle if Paul gets to keep his job.
