The Pensacola Ice Pilots hockey team wants to buy the Pensacola Civic Center from Escambia County. What - I tought the Ice Pilots were on the brink of going out of business?
I guess they are financially sound now and the team wants to buy the building. The county seems receptive to the purchase.
In order for it to happen, the state and city would have to approve the deal.
On Tuesday, the city and county will meet in a joint session to talk about the sale. If you would like to go, the meeting is open to the public.
Do you think the county should sell the civic center to the hockey team?

Hey man. If you're going to go through the trouble to advertise your blog on the News Journal forums, at least give us something of substance. And have someone copy edit your posts. Your 100-word regurgitations of PNJ stories are of little value if you act like you don't know what you're talking about. Elaborate, for Christ's sake. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to have your own voice. And something original to say. Read other blogs, and you'll see what I mean. Best of luck.
Yes...this will rid the PCC of SMG as well and probably bring more substance and profit to the area. I bet things would get fixed inside too (i.e. bathrooms, signs, etc.)
I agree with the previous poster. Putting links into every damn PNJ story is spam, but if you're going to do it, make your blog entries worth a damn. There's a difference between being "prolific" and being "good," and you're the former.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. As you can see from my blog, I have been doing this for a short period of time. I am still finding my "own voice".
I'm working on the editing. I don't have the staff that the PNJ has. I do have a full time career right now and this blog is a hobby that I do in my off time. What do you do as a hobby when you get off from your shift at Domino's?

You don't like my blog, that's fine, don't go to it. Maybe a nicer person will see a link in the PNJ forums and give me some constructive criticism.
It sounds like you had a bad day of delivering pizzas and you had to take out that anger on someone else. I'm glad I could be your punching bag.

What's up with all the hating in Pensacola? I am not a professional blogger and I have never claimed to be one. I think you can probably see that by the lack of advirtising on my blog.
I am trying to start a dialouge within the community to talk about local issues that effect us. I posed a question in this blog post. I was trying to talk about it. I'm sorry you can't form a lucid thought about the sale of the civic center.
I know this is an old story but I just saw your blog post about it and let me tell you, the reason the Pilots almost folded was not monetary issues, it was a jackass of an owner. Look up Mario Forgione and you will see that he has tons of cash and can easily afford to buy the PCC.
