Deputy and Passenger in Crash Will Be Fine

An Escambia County Sheriff’s Deputy and his passenger are recovering at Baptist Hospital after the deputy’s cruiser flipped and crashed into a power pole as he was responding to a high speed chase.

Passenger Mikel Lee was riding with Davis because he was participating in Escambia County Sheriff’s Explorer program. As a part of the program, Escambia County’s youth learn about law enforcement by shadowing deputies on the job.

Fortunately, Davis and Lee did not sustain life-threatening injuries in the crash.

The suspect that Davis was trying to help apprehend was later caught and arrested for possession of marijuana.

Get better guys!
